The Group took over the Cumberland Sports Arena in Crewe last Sunday (18th June) for a Sports Day.

In blazing hot sunshine a crowd of family members and friends watched the races and cheered on the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts as they competed in various events including the 100m, 400m, beanbag race, water relay, long jump, welly wanging and a tug of war.

As it was also Father’s Day it was fitting that there were special events for the Dads to take part in too.

The eventual winners were the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts from the green team who won both the sports trophy, and the tug of war trophy on the day.

Thanks to all the Leaders, Parents and Committee Members who helped out on the day to make sure the event ran smoothly, but particularly the Cub section Leaders, Helen and Seamus, who put in a lot of hard work beforehand in planning and organising the whole event.

We are also very grateful to our local Co-op Food in Sandbach for donating bottled water to keep the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts well hydrated.
